Turning my attention back to a long held interest in zoology, cabinets of curiosities, and graphic design, this latest body of work, Bestiarum Vocabulum, explores the personification of animals, our need to collect them as specimens, and the gray area in between.
Attaching emotional states and moral judgement to animal symbology is a long standing tradition in the visual arts and literature. While some of this work is merely a cataloging of creatures I find interesting, other pieces attempt to touch upon our collective understanding of their symbolism and our relationship with it.
